Frank Moore at the Whole Note Series, March 2003

Recorded March 25, 2003

Frank was the featured reader at this open mic poetry event held at the Whole Note Poetry Series hosted by Jesse Beagle.

In addition to Frank and Linda Mac reading Frank’s poems, Dale Jensen reads Frank's poem “My Night at the Café Ruined” and Kirsten Rose reads Frank's poem “Their Cuddling Cocoon”.

The Whole Note Series was hosted by Jesse Beagle.

Frank comments at the beginning about having to try harder to get cops to show up referencing the reading the month before at the World Cafe where the owners of the cafe freaked out about Frank being scheduled at their cafe to read his poems after they read the great EAST BAY EXPRESS cover story about us and wanted Frank to tell them exactly what he was going to be doing at their cafe!!  They called the cops when Frank showed up anyway even after they "canceled" him. The cops dragged Jesse out of the cafe as she was reading her poems. The room full of poets who had shown up for this regularly scheduled poetry series quickly distanced themselves from we, the trouble makers, by moving to the back part of the cafe. After Frank got the cops to give us their OK to have the poetry reading on the sidewalk outside of the cafe, Frank approached the poets in the back and told them that the reading would be happening on the sidewalk, would they be joining us. They literally told the cops that they were not with us and pretended to not know us!!!

At this Whole Note reading Frank has a local poet come up to read Frank's poem, "My Night at the Cafe Ruined", a poem Frank wrote after that censored night from the point of view of those poets in the back of the room.
